Harvest Mission 2012

This town boy doesn’t need to tell the people of the countryside that this has been a very difficult harvest season – the rain won’t stop pouring, the sun isn’t shining and the work is getting harder and longer!

Yet, the harvest of the land is troublesome – the spiritual harvest is thriving.  God has been so gracious and generous in the Harvest Mission in Killead church hall.  From Sunday 30th September to Sunday 7th October, God has poured out his blessing and Christ is shining upon the people.  From Harvest Suppers to Men’s Breakfast, from Ladies Coffee Mornings to Youth Cafés … our aim in proclaiming the gospel to all ages has happened.  Men, women and children have entered the hall and have feasted on God’s delights in Word, worship, prayer and fellowship.  A big thank you goes to everyone who has given time, energy and enthusiasm in the running of all the activities.

Every evening we have had the privilege in having Trevor Matthews of the Faith Mission to open the Word of God to us.  Faithful to the Scriptures, Trevor has unveiled great truths of the Gospel to all who attended.  Copies of these evening meetings will be available on CD, so please speak to our sound men at the back of the church or please contact us via the website.

As the deer pants for streams of water, so my soul pants for you, my God. My soul thirsts for God, for the living God. When can I go and meet with God?  Psalm 42:1-2

As I said, the harvest has been difficult, yet all who have been thirsty during this mission week has had an outpouring of the living God.
