Girls’ Brigade

223rd NI Company of The Girls’ Brigade (Killead Presbyterian)

In 1969, Rev W D Weir MBE, saw an opening for girls within the congregation and the community. Killead GB was formed and fully affiliated with GBNI in 1970.  In 2010 we celebrated our 40th Anniversary.  The Company has at present 62 members and 12 leaders. The girls are divided into four sections: Explorers, Juniors, Seniors & Brigaders.  Girls can start GB provided they are 3 years old at 1st July.

 

G-B Display 2016 091A  set programme under headings of Spiritual, Education, Service and Physical to include activities such as scripture, craft, games, drill, dance etc is organised for all sections.  The Duke of Edinburgh Award Scheme is offered to girls from 14 years upwards. Outings,  competitions and special events take place throughout the year.

 

VISION:  Girls’ Brigade is recognised as a dynamic, relevant, Christ-centred organisation reaching out to all girls to value, nurture and equip them for life.G-B Display 2016 126

AIM: To help Girls to become followers of the Lord Jesus Christ, and through self-control, reverence and a sense of responsibility, to find true enrichment of life.

MOTTO: Seek, Serve and Follow Christ.

The Company meets on a Tuesday night.

6.00-7.15pm – Explorers & Under Fives

7.00-9.00pm – Juniors, Seniors & Brigaders
